Vijay Patel
Vijay studied medicine at the University of Leicester where he gained his MBChB alongside an Ophthalmology focussed Intercalated BSc (Hons). Upon graduating he undertook his Foundation Programme training in the West Midlands and subsequently returned to the East Midlands to undertake training in General Practice. He is currently in his final year of training.
Vijay has a keen interest in healthcare policy development and healthcare improvement. Having led numerous quality improvement and research projects, presented both nationally and internationally, recognised through numerous awards and published in various peer reviewed journals, he acknowledges the need for expert clinical leadership and management at the core of these processes. In addition to this, he is interested in global health and health inequalities and hopes to continue to pursue engagement in humanitarian endeavours, whilst also locally focussing on healthcare collaboration between primary and secondary care stakeholders and the digital transformation being undertaken to underpin this.
